Ranjana Padhi is a feminist activist and writer based in Odisha in East India. She has co-authored  Resisting Dispossession: The Odisha Story (Palgrave Macmillan, 2020) and has authored Those Who Did not Die: Impact of the Agrarian Crisis on Women in Punjab (Sage Publications, 2012). Having been active since her student years when she passed from Delhi University with Masters in English Literature, Ranjana was fully involved in the autonomous women’s movement and other non-funded, small autonomous collectives in New Delhi. She was active in many joint campaigns and coalitions around issues of workers’ rights; democratic rights and civil liberties; state repression; forcible evictions caused by corporate land acquisition; sexuality; and communal violence. Ranjana is also known for her activist writing in various journals like Economic and Political Weekly (EPW), Monthly Review, Mainstream, The Wire and Countercurrents.
